1.Your life should have challenges, jealousy, and struggles
There was a student at a school. He was the last among his classmates compared to the rest of the class. One of the main reasons he wasn’t doing well was that he was lazy, which made his friends not even want to be friends with him. Friends would laugh at him for not being able to read or write well.
He often went to school, but he felt even more embarrassed because his friends laughed at him. So, for a long time, he stopped going to school. He didn’t say anything to the teachers, even though exams were approaching.
One day, the headmaster came to their house and said to the student, “Being shy and lazy doesn’t move you forward; it pushes you back. You’re a student, and students need to have more courage. Your life should have challenges, jealousy, and struggles. If a problem comes up, don’t cry. Don’t waste time being sad. Always try to solve it. Keep dealing with jealous people. That’s how you keep growing and striving to improve.”
The student wanted to study hard. Every day he felt embarrassed, but he pushed through. He kept trying to be the best. In the end, he became the top student. His friends envied him, but their jealousy only motivated him to keep being the best.
2.The success of a person depends on their good old habits
There was a young student. Every morning, after reading a short book, his mother sent him to the river to herd goats. After tying the goats by the river, the boy would stand there and stare at the river, trying to cross it by throwing stones.
So every day, the child tried to cross the river with rocks. This went on for many years.
One day, a man who came to fish in the village saw him and said, “You’re doing such a pointless task every day. You’ve developed a bad habit. If you don’t give it up, nothing will ever happen in your life.”
But the boy didn’t quit this habit. He kept throwing his best every day, and eventually, he was able to throw stones and cross the river. He felt really satisfied.
The boy grew up and became a teenager. After finishing high school, he went away to study. Nobody in the village knew what he was up to. But one day, the villagers saw on the news that he had won a gold medal in javelin at the international level.
The government announced a prize of five million rupees, and the Chief Minister of the state promised him a grant of one crore rupees for his victory.
The village fisherman remembered how he used to throw stones by the riverbank every day as a kid. He realized that his success had a lot to do with that old, good habit. Good habits make people good, while bad habits make people bad.
3.The function of the media is to provide information
There was a man who had the habit of reading the newspaper every day. He really enjoyed reading the news. He felt very happy when there was good news, but he became very sad when the news was bad.
One day, he thought about how nice it would be if there was only good news in the newspaper all the time. If every day brought only good news, all the newspaper readers could be happy and satisfied.
So one day, he met a journalist and said, “Thank you, I really enjoy reading your newspaper every day. But I’d like to make a request: could you publish only good news from now on?”
The journalist replied, “The role of the news media is to inform people. There’s both good news and bad news. Every day doesn’t just have sad news; there’s also good news. We get happy when we read the news, but we also get sad. I really like your request, but we won’t accept it. People need not only good news, but they also need bad news because of that.”
4.People notice more how comfortable you are than anything else
A man planted a tree right beside him. With a lot of effort, he brought it to life and really enjoyed sitting in its shade.
His house was by the road, so people only saw him relaxing under the tree every day. They’d talk about how happy he seemed.
Every afternoon he’d nap in the shade after working hard all morning. Nobody saw the effort he put in. People just looked at him and envied how happy he appeared.
One day, a man came up to him and said, “People talk a lot about you. Many say, my life should be like yours. According to them, you’re relaxed every day, and there’s nothing in your life that’s considered tough.”
At that, he replied, “People only notice my comfort, so they only see the surface. They don’t see how hard I work. I finish my work before most people even sit down at the start of their day.”
He touched the tree and added, “Look at this tree—it gives me shade to rest under every day. But I planted this tree with hard work and nurtured it.”
The man understood and said, “Lazy people really just notice how comfortable you are. People focus more on your comfort, not on how hard you work.”
5.Those who don’t try will never get what they want
There was a man who failed his high school exams every year. All his friends passed, and they and his family laughed at him, teased him, and told him to give up. But he didn’t give up.
His friends went to college, some even went to university, yet he was still trying to pass his final high school exams. Eventually, he passed and got admission into college.
Even some of his friends never made it to college, and some dropped out of university. That’s when they gave up on studying and reinventing themselves after failing. But he kept going, kept trying, and kept moving forward.
Eventually, he became a police officer. At that time, his friends surprised him. The man who used to be laughed at is now a respected figure admired by everyone. His efforts were praised by friends and others alike, though they regretted leaving him, realizing it was a big mistake.
One day, he was invited as a guest to an event, and he said, “I kept trying and gradually saw the results of my efforts. Those who don’t try will never get what they want. It’s good to remember that success isn’t for those who’ve never failed. Successful people are the ones who never gave up in life.”
6.The result of love is showing compassion back
One day, a farmer went into the forest to cut wood. That day, he found two hungry hares and took them home. The little hares were very weak from hunger.
At first, the farmer tried feeding the little hares some grass. The hares couldn’t eat the grass, so the farmer planted carrots for them on his farm.
The farmer gave the carrots to the hares to eat as they liked. The little hares grew stronger and healthier after eating the carrots. They started to grow quickly.
The farmer built a small house on his farm to stay safe. He built a nice house on the other side for himself. He played with the hares and spent many happy days with them.
A fox kept coming from the forest trying to eat the hares. But the farmer chased it away and kept the hares safe.
One day, the farmer was really tired from working under the hot sun. He decided to lie down for a bit in the shade of a tree to rest. Just then, a poisonous snake appeared near him.
Seeing that their owner was in danger, Sasa quickly ran over and woke him up. The farmer was saved from the poisonous snake.
7.Don’t react to someone’s insult
A student from a poor family went to college on time every day. He wore a Dokhona every day. Her friends often stared at her and mocked her for being poor.
Her friends wore new clothes every day, and their outfits and some of their stuff were really expensive. They often asked her to request new clothes from her parents.
One day she came home and said to her mother, “Mom, my friends make fun of me every day. They call me a poor kid. They ask my parents for money to buy new clothes. I’m really embarrassed to go to college. Please give me new clothes, or I’ll quit studying.”
The mother felt disappointed when she heard what her daughter said. She couldn’t figure out what the right thing to do was.
That day, an educated man came to their house as a guest. After hearing what happened, he said, “Don’t respond to someone insulting you. They want a reaction, so just give them your silence. Be smart and keep moving forward quietly. Always smile at insults and don’t react at all. One day they’ll fall on their own, and when that happens, you’ll be on top.”
