In the morning, a parrot and a crow met on a tree branch. After laughing together, the crow asked, ‘Which forest are you heading to today?’
The parrot replied, ‘In the past, the village didn’t have any rare fruits. There wasn’t scarcity, but now even going to the forest barely provides enough food for a day. The forest is gone, the fruit trees in the forest are gone.’
The crow said again, ‘My situation is the same. In the past, the village had no lack of dogs, cats, birds, ducks, or cows. In the wild, there were no rattlesnakes, rabbits, frogs, or crabs. Now they disappear from the village day by day. So I also have to go to the city for my stomach and my children’s.’
The parrot said, ‘It’s been so hard for so many years to go on like this. How are we going to leave our future generations behind?’
The crow said, ‘This fear isn’t just yours or mine, it’s yours too—it’s everyone’s. Everyone’s heart in the world is full of fear.’
