A Farmer and His Vegetables

There was a farmer named Madaram Basumatary who lived in a village. He grew all sorts of vegetables, fruits, and flowers on his farm. His crops did really well and could be sold.

At first, Madaram Basumatary sold his crops at the market. But people loved his vegetables so much that they started coming to his house to buy them. Every day, people in need would come by and buy his vegetables. His house basically turned into a little vegetable shop.

Nearby, the market committee fined him and told him to stop selling vegetables from home.

Another market committee member Lingshar Basumatary told him, ‘Our market has gotten weaker because of you. Many buyers for vegetables and fruits are missing. Vegetable sellers can’t sell their veggies anymore. So you either have to bring your vegetables to the market or stop farming at home.’

At that moment, the farmer said, ‘It’s not my fault. People come to take my vegetables straight from my house. Everyone wants good food. It’s good that the vegetable and fruit sellers only sell good vegetables in the market.’
