1.A small start can lead to big success
A farmer planted a banana tree in his field. The people next to him laughed at him.
A man nearby said, “What’s the use of a banana tree? People will just make fun of you for doing that.”
After a few years, the banana tree grew a lot. The farmer ended up with a huge banana plantation in the plains. By selling bananas, he was able to take good care of his family.
People were amazed at the farmer’s success. Everyone admired him, and many people learned farming from him.
One day, a journalist approached the farmer and asked, “How did you get started? Did you really believe you could succeed from the very beginning?”
The farmer replied, “Being confident in what you’re going to do from the start is really important. Everyone should remember that starting small can lead to big success.”
2.He who gets up after a falling is the true winner
A young man kept losing races. But he didn’t give up and kept racing, forgetting about his defeats. People laughed at him and called him ‘shameless.’
He watched many friends drop out. Some gave up because of shame, some just quit, and some left because they never won. Many thought there was no point in playing if you didn’t win, so they left.
The young man stayed patient. He focused on the importance of competing and entered every race.
One day, a leader said to him, ‘Even after losing so many times, your spirit hasn’t broken. You haven’t left the game like others did, and I admire your patience.’
The young man stayed quiet, thanking the leader. The leader told him, “The real victory is getting back up after a fall. Your patience and dedication to competing will make you a winner sooner or later.”
The young man ended up winning the next race. His patience and perseverance turned into a lesson and a huge inspiration for everyone. Winning after so many losses isn’t just the biggest lesson—it’s a discipline everyone should learn.
3.Never seek your happiness in someone else’s
A man found himself alone. He thought of his friends and wanted to make himself happy by being with them.
He went to a friend and said, “Today I feel really alone. For some reason, my mind isn’t at ease. Let’s go play on the field for a while.”
His friend replied, “Sorry, I can’t go anywhere to play with you right now. I have to finish my responsibilities.”
The man felt even more unsettled. He went to another friend and said, “I’m not happy at all today. Let’s go for a walk.”
The friend said, “I can’t go anywhere right now. I have some chores to do. Try to reach out to someone else.”
The man eventually realized he had made a big mistake. Never look for your happiness in someone else, he thought. It only makes you feel lonelier. Find your own happiness. You can live happily ever after, even if someone leaves.
4.Stop thinking about falling behind and fading away
A smart young man from a poor family kept taking exams for a job, but he never passed. No matter how many times he tried, he just couldn’t land the job.
One day, his father scolded him: “We raised you and educated you. All the money we spent on your studies wasn’t small. You’ve become clever, but why haven’t you got a job yet? How do you plan to take care of us now?”
The young man felt stuck. He didn’t see any solution and couldn’t figure out how to make money to support his parents.
One day, he met a friend and said, “Let’s learn to steal together. We can make a lot of money this way. Or we could smuggle in drugs, cigarettes, and alcohol and sell them secretly. Soon, we could make tons of money and get rich.”
His friend said, “Stop thinking about yourself as spoiled, stop thinking you’re downtrodden, and stop worrying about getting lost. It’s time for you to try to be your best. Going down a bad path just because you don’t have a job is a huge mistake. Start doing good business now, and I’ll help you.”
The young man realized that being too emotional and rushing decisions was wrong. It’s better to be patient and choose the right path. Life isn’t about worrying about falling behind or disappearing.
5.There is no elephant that complains about the weight of its trunk
An officer was too tired to do the work he was supposed to do, so he ended up just sitting around. Sometimes he didn’t even come to the office for several days. People got fed up waiting for him. Many didn’t even get the chance to wait and had to head back home.
In that officer’s office, there was an old man who was very active at picking up trash. He arrived on time every day and cleaned the office.
One day, the officer asked the old man who handled the garbage, “You get here first every day. You clean the office every day. Doesn’t it ever get tiresome?”
The old man replied, “What’s the point of getting tired from work I’ve already done? That’s what I’ve worked to do after competing with thousands of people.”
“I don’t want to do my duty at any time,” the officer said. “My duty isn’t supposed to be so heavy or boring.”
The old man said, “No elephant would ever complain about the weight of its trunk. It’s good to keep doing your duty. If you can’t, don’t waste someone else’s time.”
6.A kid and a bulbul
One child planted nearly a guava tree in their garden. A few years later, the tree’s branch started to bear fruit. The baby waited for the fruits to grow.
One day, the child was very happy to see the biggest and ripest fruit. He thought it would be for his and not for anyone else. He planned to give the other fruits to his parents.
The child was glad to see the tree again in the evening, and he decided to come the next morning to take a nap and eat the ripe fruits.
The next morning, the child started to eat almost every fruit. He was very happy to see the ripe fruits on the tree, but he was disappointed to see the fruit he had hoped to eat had been carried away by a bulbul.
The fruit was tied by a bulbul to the branch of another tree. In a fit of anger, the child threw a rock at it and knocked it to the ground.
The kid picked up the injured bulbul in his hands and said, “Why did you eat almost all of my fruit? You are a thief.”
“Please forgive me,” Bulbul said. “I ate almost every single piece of fruit because my appetite grew. I’m not a thief. Our grandparents taught us to survive by eating the fruit from every tree in the heart of nature.”
The kid said, “What if you go out into the woods and eat whatever you want? Almost every tree I grow belongs to me, along with all its fruits.”
The bulbul was in trouble. She felt like she’d made a huge mistake in life. The bulbul apologized for her mistake and flew away with all her friends.
After a few days, the tree was covered in ripen fruits. No one ate any of it. Most of it was just lying on the ground. A nasty smell was coming from the broken fruits. At that moment, the boy remembered the bulbul again. He thought the bulbuls would have been really happy to eat almost all the fruit.
