1.A caged parrot and a forest crow
One day, a crow from the middle of the forest flew into the city looking for food. It started searching for food in a house when it heard a parrot crying.
The crow went up to the parrot and saw that it was in a cage. The parrot wanted to get out but couldn’t; it wanted to fly but couldn’t; the cage was too small even to move around freely.
The crow got closer and asked, “Why are you stuck inside the cage?”
The parrot said, “Because I speak out, people have locked me in this cage. I can’t get out. I can’t do anything I want; whatever the owner decides is what happens. I live on what the owner gives me. My days and nights are spent in this cage. I have no idea what’s going on in the outside world.”

2.Difficult does not mean impossible
A man from the village decided to dig a well because there wasn’t enough water. His name was Swrang Narzary. After digging down fifteen feet, the soil kept collapsing. It was hard, and he started thinking it was impossible to build a well there.
He got frustrated with all the failures and thought about giving up on digging the well. He genuinely believed it couldn’t be done there.
Then a smart well-digger came along. His name was Simangsa Basumatary. He saw that Swrang was about to quit digging the well.
The expert said, “Difficult does not mean impossible. It just means you need to try harder.”
With new motivation, Swrang worked really hard and dug the well. After a few days of nonstop digging, he finally found water. He felt happy and really satisfied during this whole time.

3.Your ability to think is your greatest weapon
One day, the philosophers of an area gathered for a meeting. Everyone tried to give their thoughts on how to develop the region. Most believed that the area would improve if we came up with some kind of programs. But nobody talked about working with new ideas.
One of the youngest participants said in his speech, ‘For our area to grow, we first need to provide good education for our children. Every guardian and local resident has to cooperate. Every mom and dad should send their kids to school. Everyone should make sure the schools run well and that students don’t drop out.’
Everyone liked his speech. One of the oldest people said, “I’m old. Your imagination is your greatest weapon, so use it to create something amazing. What adults can’t do, young people should step up to do, and adults should help out too.”
So they all worked on developing the area. Gradually, prosperity and opportunities started to grow. Everyone’s families were happy and peaceful.
4.You’ll never get it if you don’t get close to what you want
A kid was staring at a mango tree by the roadside. Seeing the ripe fruits, he wanted to eat them. He kicked the tree a few times, but none of the fruits fell.
The kid looked for rocks to throw at the fruit but couldn’t find any. He looked for long sticks to grind with, but still found none.
A man passing by stopped when he saw the child. He asked, “What are you doing here? What do you want?”
The kid looked at the man and said, “I want the mangoes from the tree.”
The man said, “If you don’t get close to what you want, you’ll never get it. You need to be able to climb the tree to get the mango. You need to be able to throw rocks too.”
It was only then that the child realized the importance of climbing the tree. So this time, he started climbing the mango tree.
5.Some people try to hurt others when they themselves are hurt
There was a woodcutter in a village. He went to the forest every day to gather wood. After cutting it, he would chop it up and sell it in the market.
His life went on like this for many years. He was never really satisfied with life. Often, he quarreled with his wife at home. He had chased his sons away when they were young.
One day, while he was on his way to cut wood, he ran into a tiger. He barely escaped after getting hit by it and ran back toward his house.
A villager saw him running and asked, “What’s happened to you today? Why are you running like that?”
He said happily, “In the forest I saw a deer sleeping. No matter how you chase it, you can easily find it.”
The man quickly grabbed two friends from the village and chased them into the forest, but they only saw an angry tiger. The tiger chased them, and they managed to run back home, scared of the tiger.
While running, they often fell and got hurt.
The woodcutter was thrilled when he got close after hearing that they were being chased by the tiger.
A villager said at the time, “Some people try to hurt others if they themselves get hurt. The woodcutter did something similar.”

6.Saving money is an important duty
The wife of a farmer named Sangina went to a puja with her two daughters, Monalisa and Anjali. There was a big fair at the puja where they sold toys, cosmetics, and clothes.
Sangina bought her children the clothes they picked out. At first, they were very happy, but then they wanted to buy cosmetics.
Mom also bought them their favorite cosmetics, and they were thrilled.
Then they wanted toys. The mother didn’t have much money left. At that moment, remembering what her husband had said, she told her daughters, “Don’t spend all the money. Save some today, and money will help you tomorrow. Don’t try to get everything at once; it’s also good to get things little by little.”
7.Going to bed early at night is the best way to rest
An officer does a lot of work even after his office hours are over. Sometimes in the evenings, he comes home and after taking a shower, he starts writing a lot more.
Sometimes he leaves the office early and goes to play in the field with the young men nearby. So, after taking a bath, he starts writing in a different way.
There was a man who worked at his house. He was always watching the officer. So about five years went by.
One day, his worker asked him, ‘Why, sir, it’s been five years since I started coming to your house to work. You tell us to take a break sometimes and not just focus on working too hard. But I still don’t see you resting at all. Aren’t you tired?’
The worker added, ‘People often drink in the evening to shake off their tiredness. I haven’t seen you do that yet.’
‘Time is very precious,’ the officer said with a smile. ‘Precious time gets wasted on bad deeds, overthinking, boredom, or fear. It should be spent on thinking positively, love, and work. You don’t see me taking breaks, but the earliest I sleep is my best rest.’

8.Each snake has a different bite styles
A cobra used to come into a house every day. Sometimes it drank chicken eggs. Sometimes it broke kitchen dishes and pots.
One day, this snake got into a fight with a mother bird and killed her. The family was scared of the snake, but they didn’t want to kill it.
One day, a snake catcher came from the city. At that time, the snake was inside the house. After searching for a long time, the snake catcher caught it by the tail and played with it in the courtyard.
At the end, the snake felt very tired and fell asleep on the floor. The villagers were surprised to see how a snake catcher could discourage a poisonous snake. The village thought he was very intelligent and praised him.
When the snake catcher caught hold of him by the hand, thinking he was tired, the snake, being fierce, hit him quickly in the hand. He screamed and repeated it with a stick.
The snake catcher put the snake in a bag and told the people, ‘Don’t mess with a poisonous snake. It can really hurt people. It’s good to know that every snake spreads its venom in a different way. Similarly, you shouldn’t trust people easily. Everyone has different skills when it comes to lying.’
The snake catcher had taken medicine to counter the snake’s venom, so it couldn’t harm him. He felt relieved.

9.Animals can also understand human kindness and gentle words
Ramwnda’s house was in the forest, and he always lived alone. He grew fruits and vegetables in the forest. The forest animals often wanted to visit Ramwnda’s garden, but he got very angry, so they were afraid of him.
One day, quietly, a group of monkeys came into Ramanda’s garden and gobbled up the fruits. Hearing the noise, Ramwnda chased them with a stick, and the monkeys ran away scared.
Evening came, and suddenly it started pouring. At that moment, the little monkey, abandoned by its mother, let out a relieved cry. It tried to brave the storm and rain, hanging onto a tree branch.
The rain was freezing and unbearable. The little monkey shivered from the cold.
Ramwnda heard the little monkey’s cries and came over. Seeing the little monkey in danger, she felt pity for him. She spoke to him in a soft and sweet voice, urging him to come down from the tree. Hearing his kind words, the little monkey slowly climbed down from the top of the tree.
