If your hands are cold even cold water feels warm

A traveler on the road got caught in heavy rain. The storm tried to sweep him away. He was in the rain, but there was no house around to take shelter. He kept going through the rain, enduring and struggling, until he finally finished his journey.

He only found a house after a long walk. By then, the rain had stopped, but he felt even colder. His whole body was shaking.

The homeowner took care of him. They took off his wet clothes and put him in dry ones. Once dressed in dry clothes, he felt warmth in his body. Soon, he thought his cold would go away.

His whole body was still cold. Feeling thirsty, he asked for water. He drank it without hesitation and found it hot.

The homeowner apologized and said, ‘Please forgive me. Seeing you shivering, I gave you cold water. Soon I could have warmed it up by heating it with a fire.’

He said, ‘Why do you need to apologize? The water feels hot to me. I just have to thank you.’

The homeowner said, ‘If your hands are cold, even cold water will feel hot to you.’
